Dan Hobgood

Executive Producer

Born and raised in Virginia, Dan has been a radio personality since 2023, when he joined legendary station WRVA as the producer of its morning show (possibly the longest-running one in America). Within a year, Dan was the show’s permanent fill-in host and a candidate to succeed now-former host John Reid when he left the role to run for political office. In a relatively short period of time, Dan has become a recurring guest and regular panelist on a number of podcasts and radio programs; he assumed his current role on The John Fredericks Media Network, as executive producer of THE JOHN FREDERICKS SHOW, in spring of 2026.

A champion runner in youth and (“)Ultimate (‘Frisbee'”) player in adulthood, Dan also graduated from America’s oldest law school (William & Mary) and is an internationally acclaimed scholar regarding the subject of film scoring, about which he writes and lectures at the college level. He is passionate about the subject of philosophy in general — but is more specifically interested in matters of epistemology, morality/ethics, and jurisprudence. In what little free time he has, he is likely playing Ultimate, rooting on his favorite sports teams (Pittsburgh’s pro squads and University of Virginia’s collegiate ones), watching a movie, listening to Jerry Goldsmith film scores, or writing or reading (nonfiction). He is a proud uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and enjoys the companionship of his adorable dog, an Australian Jack Russell Terrier named Gracie.
